Cross-country skiing is an exciting and fun way to stay in shape. This vigorous workout tones all parts of the body and gets you out of doors, enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Unlike workouts in indoor gyms, this winter sport is one of the best ways possible to get toned and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Now, Cleveland Metroparks is offering a Cross-Country Ski Introductory class on February 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. near Shawnee Hills Golf Course, located at 18753 Egbert Road, Bedford, Ohio.
The class costs $30 and is open to anyone 14 or over with a participating adult. Cross-country skis, boots, poles and hot chocolate are provided for participants. This class will teach the basics of cross-country skiing including the terminology associated with the activity as well as strides, turning and going up and down hills. Participants are encouraged to dress in non-cotton layers with warm socks. The activity level is rated easy to moderate, so most people will be very comfortable participating.
